We stayed in a variety of places and types of accommodation in Thailand and this was our favourite – beautiful rustic accommodation and lovely staff… the bathrooms are open at the top so you shower with a view of the jungle – fantastic! We did a night safari and saw loads… mouse deer, porcupine, loris, owls.

khao sokMalaysian Nature Society
at Khao Sok, March 25-28

A group of professional scientists, naturalists and nature lovers recently visited Our Jungle House and saw some amazing wildlife on the lake. The Society (MNS) is the oldest and largest environmental NGO in Malaysia. Among other accomplishments, MNS succeeded in getting a large are of lowland rainforest declared a national park. However, until now, there has been little inter-action between them and Thai naturalists.

Real jungle experience

We stayed here for four nights and it was the best hotel we stayed at in Thailand…We stayed in a tree house which was literally among the forest, unlike other hotels we saw which had made a clearing for their hotel. There is free internet access – which is useful and unexpected in the middle of the jungle.
