Private Transportation

We can arrange private transport via car or van from anywhere in Southern Thailand including: Khao Lak, Krabi, Phuket, Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao, Koh Lanta, Koh Phi Phi, and the Similan Islands. If you are coming directly from one of the islands we can arrange private pick up from any pier.

A car normally carries two adults and luggage, or three adults if they have small bags. For three or more people, we recommend a van.

When you get out of the Airport, turn right on the 41 Road, and drive south for 11 km. Turn right on the 401, and drive west for 109 km (through the towns of Takun and Panom) until you arrive at the entrance to Khao Sok Park on your right hand side. T

Head west to the town of Phunpin, take the 401, drive west for 109 km (through the towns of Takun and Panom) until you arrive at the entrance to Khao Sok Park on your right hand side.

car95From Khao Lak- 1.15 hours
Drive north to Takuapa on Highway 4, and then east on Highway 401 (towards Surathani).

car95From Krabi- 2.5 hours
Departing Krabi, head northwest on Thanon Phet Kasem/Route 4 for about 60 km and turn right onto Route 4118 in the town of Thap Phut. Proceed 45 km and when the road ends, turn left onto Route 401. Follow Route 401 west for 37km and turn right into Khao Sok National Park.

car95From Phuket- The Short Way (160 km)- 2.5 hours
Follow route 402 across the Sarasin Bridge to Khok Kloy. Next bear left onto route 4 towards Thai Mueang. Continue on route 4 past Khao Lak and, about 7km after Takua Pa, head straight as route 4 becomes route 402 and heads east towards Surathani (do not turn left on route 4 heading north towards Ranong). Khao Sok and Khao Sok Park are frequently marked from here on.

From Phuket- The Scenic Way (143 km)- 3 hours
Follow route 402 across the Sarasin Bridge to Khok Kloy then bear left onto route 4 towards Thai Mueang. At Thung Maphro, turn right onto route 4240, and then left onto 4090. Follow 4090 until you reach route 401, then turn right to Khao Sok.

The Budget Way

Many Ways Lead to Our Jungle House

If you come by yourself, you may encounter drivers trying to take you to their or their “friends” places. Please tell them you are booked for Our Jungle House, and politely insist that they bring you here. They may charge for the lift, but it should be no more than 50 baht per person.

If you consider flying from Bangkok to get close to Khao Sok National Park, please note that there are three possible airports: Surathani, Phuket and Krabi.

Surathani Airport is the closest in distance; Phuket Airport has the most flight options; and Krabi Airport is at the same distance as Phuket, yet getting to Khao Sok Park via public transportation is complicated.

train20Train from Bangkok to Surathani- 11 hours
From Bangkok, take the 2nd class sleeper train, which is air-conditioned, comfortable and at approx. 800 baht one-way (a very good deal). There are several trains every night, but the 7 PM train arrives at Surathani at about 6 AM. However, as with any form of transportation, it can sometimes be delayed.

From the Surathani train station, you can get a bus to Khao Sok. Exit the front entrance of the train station and 30 meters to the right take the Surathani-Phuket bus.

front1Night Bus from Bangkok to Surathani
At the bus stations in Bangkok you can find buses that head south to Surathani. The Southern Bus Terminal (Sai Tai Mai) has buses that travel to the southern provinces, and is located at Phutthamonthon Soi 1 in Bang Ramat, Taling Chan, northern Thonburi. You may call them under 0 2434 5557-8 or drop a visit to find information on their timetable.

front1Local Bus 
Take a bus towards Surathani (or you can catch the first bus north to Takua Pa, where you can transfer to a Surathani bus). About 35-45 minutes after leaving Takua Pa, the bus will pass the junction for Khao Sok National Park – get off there at the Khao Sok bus stop.

From there, tell one of the pick-up truck drivers to deliver you to Our Jungle House. This should cost no more than 50 baht per person.

front1Shared Van
There is no direct public transportation from Krabi. Ask any hotel or agent where to find the shared mini-van to Khao Sok National Park. The van should leave every day in the morning around 10am, costing about 350 baht per person. The ride takes about 3.5 hours.

Once in Khao Sok, they might bring you directly to Our Jungle House, or you will be dropped at the bus stop. If they drop you off at the bus stop, ask one of the pick-up drivers waiting at the stop to take you to Our Jungle House. They should charge no more than 50 baht per person.

From the central bus station in Phuket town, you will find buses heading north to Surathani. Buses depart roughly every hour from about 7am to 3pm. The ride takes about 4 hours, and you might have a stop in Takua Pa. Get off at the Khao Sok bus stop.

The public bus has a stop at or near the airport. A tuk-tuk can take you to the bus stop
at the airport if it’s too far for you to walk. The buses come from Phuket Town, and reach the airport about 30-45 minutes later. Alternately, there is a public bus from the Airport to the central bus station in Phuket town.

From there, tell one of the pick-up truck drivers to deliver you to Our Jungle House. This should cost no more than 50 baht per person.

There is no public transportation from Surathani Airport direct to Khao Sok. You can get a shared minivan that brings you into Surathani town for about 100 Baht.

In Surathani Town find shared vans and public transportation at the bus station every hour between 7am and 5pm. The rate for the shared van is 250 Baht and the rate for the public transportation is 120 Baht. Please be aware that the last bus to Khao Sok from Surathani is usually at 4pm.

train20Surathani Train Station
From Surathani train station, exit the front entrance of the train station and 30 meters to the right take the Surathani-Phuket bus, getting off at Khao Sok (about 2 hours and 120 baht).

From the entrance to Khao Sok, tell one of the pick-up truck drivers to deliver you to Our Jungle House. This should cost no more than 50 baht per person.

The easiest way to Our Jungle House from Koh Tao, Koh Phangan and Koh Samui, is by ferry to Don Sak, 70 km east of Surathani town. There are many ferry companies, including Lomprayah Ferry and Raja Ferry, all with their own pier at Don Sak.

We can arrange private pickup from any pier. The rate for pick up from around Don Sak is 3,100 baht per private car. Please check with your ferry company which pier you will arrive at.

From Koh Lanta and Koh Phi Phi you can take a boat to either Phuket or Krabi. Phuket is easier to arrange further transportation, please check the Phuket or Krabi tabs for further details.

From the Similan Islands you will arrive in Khao Lak, where we can pick you up for 1,800 baht per private car. If you would like to arrive via public transportation, please check the Khao Lak tab for further details.

Khao Sok Town & Park to Our Jungle House

Once You Arrive
If you arrive via public bus, tell the driver you are going to Khao Sok (pronounced “cow soke”).You will find many local taxis waiting at the bus stop located on the highway at the entrance to Khao Sok. For 50 baht per person they will bring you to Our Jungle House. Be insistent, in a friendly way, that they bring you here, because they may try to divert you to other places.

Driving or Walking
At Kilometer 109 of Highway 401, turn onto Khao Sok Road. Head north on the road for 1.5 km and go over a bridge. 40 meters after the bridge, you will see a sign for Our Jungle House – turn right on this small paved road and stay on the road as it passes several bungalows and then makes a sharp left hand turn and becomes a dirt road. You will also find Our Jungle House signs there. Head along this for 300 meters, and you’ll see another sign for Our Jungle House – head right on this road and it will lead you to our place.
