Rafflesia Flower Hike
Don't miss the chance to see the incredible Khao Sok Rafflesia (rafflesia kerrii), the world's largest flower. Known in Thai as 'bua phut' they flower seasonally from November to April.
The giant flowers reach up to 90 cm in diameter and weigh as much as 7 kg! This rare parasitic plant can only be found in a few countries, including Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
Join us for a 4-5-hour hike through the hilly and muddy terrain of Khao Sok National Park to locate this natural giant red wonder.
Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles officially discovered the flower in Borneo in 1818. Hence the name. However, some people credit the discovery to French surgeon Louis Deschamps back in 1797!
The Rafflesia is a fascinating part of botanical history.
RafflesiaRafflesia blooms between December and March, but sightings are never guaranteed. As one of the rarest flowers on Earth, part of the magic is in the mystery — even getting close is a special experience.
