More Than a Stay - a Mission

Staying with us means you support free education for over 4,000 kids a year.
We care so deeply about the environment that we run our own non-profit, Jungle Life Camp, a center for nature education.
Your stay supports free activity camps we run for local children, to teach them about environmental stewardship, and be its guardians of the future.

Rainforest protection above all else

Rainforest protection above all else
Our Jungle House eco-resort is the vision of founder Dick Sandler. Arriving in Thailand over 40 years ago with the Peace Corps, Dick quickly discovered his true calling: eco-tourism.
The lush landscapes of Khao Sok captured his spirit and soul, igniting a passion that led to the founding of Our Jungle House. Our Jungle Camp followed some years later.
Located along a vibrant river, now Our Jungle House features treehouses and bungalows designed to harmonize with the environment. Guided by the principle of 'low density, high value', we ensure minimal impact on natural surroundings, allowing wildlife to flourish.
Now in his 80s, Dick Sandler is fondly regarded as Thailand's 'grandfather of eco-tourism.' His legacy of responsible travel continues to inspire, fostering harmony between nature and local communities.
He inspired the founding of multiple eco-friendly resorts, including the Railay Beach Club and the Golden Buddha Beach Resort, each committed to environmental preservation.
Empowering the Community
Community development is central to our mission, and our success. Beyond providing unique travel experiences we strive to educate local communities to reflect our core values in nature protection.
Our team and guides are trained in sustainable practices and engage with the community holistically. Over the years we have hosted guide trainings, first aid courses, and language lessons for over 800 local adults.
To protect the most vulnerable, we are a major sponsor of the Andaman Center for Migrant Education. This Center looks after over 200 at-risk youth who would not otherwise be in school.
Building the Future
True conservation involves people of any age, especially children. That's why we developed a non-profit organization - Jungle Life Camp - to better sustain community outreach.
We host free nature-camps for local children to inspire a love for the environment, and to continue what generations have done in Khao Sok. We believe we are leading the way in showing what's possible when conservation and hospitality go hand in hand.
Protecting the Jungle
Rainforest Protection is at the heart of Our Jungle House's mission. The 80-rai (13 hectares) property of which 50-rai is pristine, untouched lowland forest, is one of the few preserved nearby areas outside Khao Sok National Park.
We're committed to keeping this land free from high-impact construction, creating a resort that blends into its natural surroundings, enhancing rather than disrupting the landscape.
We build each structure thoughtfully, using sustainably sourced local wood and bamboo, nature's most renewable resource. The hardwood used to build and maintain our treehouses comes primarily from fallen trees, turning natural waste into purposeful materials without the need for logging healthy trees.
Join us in Khao Sok and discover the rare luxury of nature - untamed, unforgettable, and truly yours.
Dick Sandler,
Founder of Our Jungle House
