The story of the first treehouse
We were the first treehouse in Khao Sok. And we have the proof!
"The first in what?", you ask.
The first to buy a palm plantation, thirty-five years ago, and cut it down. The first to let the jungle reclaim it as nature intended.
What inspired it all? A woman from Iowa. She came here with the Peace Corps, fell in love with this wild, untamed place, and carved out something remarkable for herself. She lived in a treehouse, anchored to one of the tallest trees around, a Dipterocarpus, if memory serves.
Our founder met her, and the connection was instant. They shared a dream: to bring this way of life, this sense of wonder, to others. This was back when Thailand was just beginning to show up on maps, when names like Bangkok and Phuket were whispered like secrets.
That’s where it all started. The first treehouses were experiments, high in the canopy, built by dreamers chasing the echoes of their childhood.
Keeping the Dream Alive
That dream is still alive here. And we hope you feel it too, as you stay with us. We would like to share the secrets of living with nature with you.
Our treehouses are open to the world. They are made of wood. It can’t be anything else, right? We built them to blend with nature. Thai traditions of woodcraft guided us, their wisdom shaping every beam and joint.
Sure, the rain stays out, but the monkeys might come to spy on you and greet you. So don’t forget to close the doors!
Even your morning shower becomes something else entirely, standing there, looking out at the mist rolling through the trees, the birds singing their songs. It’s a simple start to the day, but it’s simply beautiful.
We ensure that your stay will be comfortable. If treehouses call to you, join us, we’re certain it’ll be unforgettable.
