Our Jungle House Review
A jungle adventure in the National Park of Khao Sok
Blogpost translated to English
Located in the southern province of Thailand, named Surat Thani, you will find Khao Sok National Park. This national park offers beautiful turquoise floating reservoirs and dense jungles. Moreover it is home to a big diversity of wildlife. A stay in this National Park will be one of your highlights of Thailand. In this blog I share my experience with Our Jungle House in the National Park of Khao Sok.
A variety of nature trails
From Our Jungle House you can easily explore the jungle by yourself. With 3 different nature trails you will get a good first impression of this beautiful surrounding. The hiking trails are clearly marked, so you don't have to worry about getting lost in the forest. While exploring the trails, you have the chance to spot some wildlife. We were lucky and saw a large group of monkeys jumping between the trees!

Sleeping in a tree house
During our adventure with Our Jungle House we spend our first night in a treehouse. From the terrace we immersed ourselves in the middle of the treetops, were whe had a good chance to spot monkeys and birds. While we heard the sounds of the jungle around us, we fell asleep very calmly that evening. To make our jungle adventure even more complete, we woke up to the sound sound of monkeys running and playing on our roof.

Explore Cheow Lan Lake
After our breakfast at Our Jungle House, it was time to leave for Cheow Lan Lake. Over here we stepped on board of the longtail boat. The environment over here is fascinating. Imposing overgrown rock formations rise from the turquoise colored water. Did you know? Cheow Lan Lake is a reservoir that stood dry years ago. At the bottom of the lake you will even find remains of villages that stood here centuries ago. However, the lake is immensly deep that diving to this spot is not allowed.

Discovering the mysteries of a cave
After a short walk through the dense jungle we arrived at a platform. Over here we boarded a so-called 'bamboo raft', which took us to the entrance of the cave. We were amazed by this dark but impressive cave full of mysterious stories and unique rocks.
A night in a floating bungalow
The second night we did not stay in a tree house, but in a floating bungalow on the middle of the Cheow Lan Lake. During our stay, all our meals were provided and we could use the kayaks to explore the area ourselves.

Spotting monkeys during a boat safari
After an amazingly good night of sleep we started our third day in the National Park with an early boat safari. Before breakfast we went out on the water, looking for some wildlife. Soon we saw a hornbill hiding high in the trees. A little later we came across a large group of monkeys playing. A wonderful experience to admire up close! If you are the very lucky one, you can also spot wild elephants in this park.

Our adventure with Our Jungle House was unforgettable! The combination of the beautiful surroundings and the back-to-basic vibes were fantastic. Do you also want to discover the Khao Sok National Park? Be sure to check the Our Jungle House website for all tours and adventure packages.
