Travel information on getting to and from Khao Sok and Bangkok
Many people journey to enjoy the wonders of Khao Sok national park. If you are travelling from Bangkok to Khao Sok there are several options. Apart from planes and trains you can also take a bus from Bangkok to Khao Sok. When it is time to travel in the opposite direction from Khao Sok to Bangkok we have some useful tips.
Bangkok to Khao Sok By Plane
If you're flying from Bangkok, there are three airport options to get to Khao Sok.The closest airport to Khao Sok is Surat Thani, followed by Krabi and Phuket.
Surat Thani Airport is the closest distance; Phuket Airport has the most flight options; and Krabi Airport is at the same distance as Phuket. However, getting to Khao Sok national park from the airports via public transport can be complicated.
Train from Bangkok to Surat Thani - 11 hours
From Bangkok, take the 2nd class sleeper train, which is air-conditioned, comfortable and at approx. 800 baht one-way, a very good deal. If you want to take the overnight train you are in luck. There are several trains every night, but the 7 PM train is quite convenient as it arrives at Surat Thani at about 6 AM. However, as with any form of transportation, it can sometimes be delayed.
From the Surat Thani train station, you can get a bus to Khao Sok. Exit the front entrance of the train station and 30 meters to the right take the Surat Thani to Phuket bus.

First take the Night Bus from Bangkok to Surat Thani
At the bus stations in Bangkok, you can find buses that head south to Surat Thani. The Southern Bus Terminal (Sai Tai Mai) has buses that travel to the southern provinces, and is located at Phutthamonthon Soi 1 in Bang Ramat, Taling Chan, northern Thonburi. From Khao Sok to Bangkok
Our reception will help you with your onward journey. If you are traveling to Bangkok by public transport your journey will likely start at the bus station on route 401. It is a little way from Our Jungle House, but we will arrange to take you there. Just contact reception and let them know your travel plans.
