Travel information on getting to and from Khao Sok from Khao Lak

If you have been enjoying the Khao Lak Lam Ru national park you will certainly be excited to continue your adventure with a trip from Khao Lak to Khao Sok national park. It’s quite an easy journey. We’ve selected some transport options to consider as well as useful information for the oposite journey from Khao Sok to Khao Lak.

By Bus

The cheapest option is to take the local bus. You can take the bus that goes to Surat Thani. Alternatively, you can catch the first bus north to Takua Pa. Here you can transfer to a Surat Thani bus. Either way, about 35-45 minutes after leaving Takua Pa, the bus will pass the junction for Khao Sok National Park on route 401. Get off here at the bus station.

The bus stop is a short distance from us. Just tell one of the pick-up truck taxi drivers to deliver you to Our Jungle House. This should cost no more than 50 - 80 baht per person.

There are multiple public bus options with travel times varying from 2.5 to 3 hours.

Khao Lak to Khao Sok by private transfer

For a faster and more comfortable journey a private transfer offers the best convenience and only takes about 1.5 hours. You can arrange a private transfer through ‘Our Jungle House’ when you make your booking.

Driving From Khao Lak to Khao Sok

If you have your own vehicle, the driving time is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Drive north to Takua Pa on Highway 4, and then east on Highway 401 towards Surat Thani. Khao Sok is well-signed.

Khao Sok to Khao Lak

The most important difference going from Khao Sok to Khao Lak is that people traveling by bus will need transport to the bus stop. Just contact reception and they will arrange everything. The same goes for private transfers. Let reception know your plans and they will get you on your way.
